A wiki (or wiki-wiki web) is a group of web pages that can be edited by the user from the browser.

A wiki system allows the collective creation of documents by means of the contributions of several contributors. This makes it successful for several collaborative projects.

One of the most emblematic projects is the Wikipedia, an Encyclopedia of free contents (GFDL license) written collectively by a great quantity of people connected on the net.

There are several software solutions that allow a wiki system to work. For the Wikipedia project MediaWiki has been developed as open software (GPL license) and we use it (adapted) for the GERMINADOR project.
