Providing proposals

GERMINADOR is an open project and the "GERMINADOR wiki" a collaborative resource on net collective creation. This page tries to gather in some information and guidelines for those interested in providing proposals or contributing to those already present.

[edita] Proposals: seeds or sprouts?

We use the metaphor of the kitchen sprouter, thus proposals are seeds or sprouts.
Seeds are those proposals (already existing or newly created) that are integrated in the wiki as an interesting material as regards to collective creation and that are considered to have potential to be explored.
Sprouts are those newly created proposals that start off from one or several seeds gathered in the wiki and that are developed or some variants are created out of them.

[edita] Incorporating Seeds

The aim is to gather in as many cases and variants as possible in order to help drawing a wide spectrum of possibilities as well as contributing to create the conditions suitable for stimulating the creation of new proposals. That is why there may be some seeds that are not strictly considered as "collective creation" or that are not "on-line" but that are thought to be relevant as regards to this intention.

Maybe seeds(Crec que ho vem traduir aixi abans, però ara que m’ho remiro potser no seria millor “to-be seeds”?. Maybe seeds em no sona gens bé. “To be” com adjectiu fa referencia a que ho pot ser en el futur: per exemple I am a to-be doctor...) If you just want to point out what could be a seed but without creating a page, please write it down in the Maybe seeds (en). Somebody may have a look at it and decide to incorporate it.

Describing seeds

  • To define a seed, you have to create a new page. You can do it by creating a link from any page in the wiki (for example from the sandbox).
    • There are some conventions for the titles of the articles that require an (L) after the title plus an indicator of the language of the proposal, Spanish or English.
    • A link for creating a seed page can look something like: "[[title of the proposal (L)]]".
    • Once the link is saved, it will turn to red. Click on it and a page will be created ready to be edited.
  • Any seed article is headed by a form that is provided by a template.
    • There are two templates for seeds. The Infobox seed single en and the Infobox seed en. The second is for those proposals that imply software and that have an internet address that must be referred.
    • In the template pages you will find a "code" string to copy and paste in your page. This is the fields of the form you must fill out.
  • All proposals are meant to have a schematic description by means of tags. See Tags for proposal traits (en) in order to know which tags have been created and any proposals page to see how they are used.
  • Thus, try to find the best way to explain the proposal, to make it comprehensive or to point out aspects you consider interesting.

[edita] Generating Sprouts

GERMINADOR is aimed at fertilizing the field of net collective creation and that by means of a resource like "GERMINADOR wiki" some variations are able to be explored and new proposals created.

To-be sproutssearch and replace If you just want to point out what could be a seed but without creating a page, please write it down in the Maybe sprouts (en). Somebody may have a look at it and decide to incorporate it.

Creating sprouts

  • To write a new sprout, you have to create a new page. You can do it by creating a link from any page in the wiki (for example from the sandbox).
    • There are some conventions for the titles of the articles that require a (G) after the title plus an indicator of the language of the proposal, Spanish (es) or English (en).
    • A link for creating a sprout page can look something like: "[[title of the proposal (G)]]".
    • Once the link is saved, it will turn to red. Click on it and a page will be created ready to be edited.
  • Sprout articles do not have a form as detailed as seeds’. But there is a template that unifies their layout and allows us to list the seeds they derive from.
    • Go to Infobox sprouted en template page where you will find a "code" to copy and paste in your page.
    • There are up to 10 fields to place seeds your sprout derives from. Here you can also consider other previous sprouts as seeds.
  • All proposals are meant to have a schematic description by means of tags. See Tags for proposal traits (en) to know which proposals have been created and any proposals page to see how they are used.
  • Thus, try to find the best way to explain the proposal, to make it comprehensive or to point out aspects you consider interesting.
